Research

The Celtic Heritage Trust research programmes are aimed at discovering ways to promote the sustainable use of our natural environment.

We take our lead from our local and international partnerships.  Working with our partner organisations, we identify environmental issues that are close to our communities, and from these we work to develop conservation, education and research plans to mitigate.

Our partnerships have enabled the development of a knowledge resource, providing a wealth of technical expertise to assist in the successful development of research initiatives.

The current focus of our work is in developing a community-run environmental centre in the clay-mining village of Nanpean.  The Celtic Heritage Trust are also involved in a diverse range of regional conservation and education initiatives in other areas.

Our research program is undergoing rapid growth and we are developing strong innovative drivers to press forward our actions at grass roots.   Our research work aims to identify strategies and targets that local communities can work towards to develop sustainable local environmental management plans for the region’s unique landscape and cultural heritage.  These plans will focus on improving the quality of life of our local communities and help progress the concept of sustainable development.
